JAMMU, July 27: All J&K Megh Sabha has urged the Chief Justice of India (CJI) and Union Law Minister to take immediate steps for ensuring the representation of Scheduled Castes in the High Court (HC) of J&K and Ladakh by appointing a Judge from the community.
Addressing a press conference here today the Sabha president, Narinder Datt claimed that this is the long pending demand of the community since 1928, when the J&K HC came into existence.
He appealed to the CJI to pass afresh directions to the Chief Justice of J&K HC during his two days visit to J&K so that nomination process for the Judge can be expedited.
Rajinder Bhagat, vice president; Ravi Kant Bhagat, State coordinator; Vishal Bhagat and others were also present in the press conference.
