SRINAGAR, July 27: In a major career progression move, Jammu & Kashmir Bank has promoted two of its senior General Managers-Sunit Kumar and Imtiyaz Ahmad Bhat-to the newly reintroduced post of Chief General Manager (CGM).
As per a statement, the leadership level has been brought back into the bank’s hierarchy after more than two decades.
Sunit Kumar was serving as Divisional Head Jammu and Imtiyaz Ahmad Bhat was leading the Strategy & IT Vertical.
Both officers, who joined the Bank as probationary officers in 1989, bring extensive experience in banking operations and strategy.
In addition to these top-level elevations, nine Deputy General Managers have been promoted as General Managers. These include Tariq Ali, Khursheed Muzaffar, Arshad Qadri, Rakesh Magotra, Ajay Kohli, Ashok Gupta, Nishikant Sharma, Mohammad Muzaffar Wani and Altaf Hussain Kira.
Welcoming the move, MD & CEO Amitava Chatterjee said the reintroduction of the CGM post will help build stronger leadership as the Bank expands its business.
“We are committed to recognizing our internal talent. Promotions like these ensure continuity, stability, and growth,” he said.
It is important to mention here that the latest promotion drive, which began four months ago, has benefited more than 1,400 officers across all levels. These include the promotion of 14 AGMs to DGMs, 41 Chief Managers to AGMs, 36 Senior Managers to Chief Managers, 392 Managers to Senior Managers, and 752 Assistant Managers to Manager rank.
In addition to this, the Bank is filling up fast-track vacancies for Managers and Chief Managers through an online examination and is working on promotions in the workmen cadre.
