Vehicle with 11 bovines seized, driver escapes

RAJOURI, July 16: In a success against illegal cattle transportation, Rajouri police foiled a bovines smuggling bid and rescued 11 milch animals in Nowshera area of the district.
Acting on reliable inputs, a police party from Police Station Nowshera, led by Station House Officer (SHO), Inspector Arjun Magotra, under the supervision of SDPO Nowshera Sahil Mahajan, intercepted a Tata Mobile vehicle bearing registration number JK12B-1415, which was transporting the animals in a cruel and illegal manner.
The vehicle was moving from Siot towards Rajouri and was believed to be destined for Kashmir via Mughal Road. However, the driver managed to flee the spot, taking advantage of the darkness and terrain.
In this connection, FIR No. 92/2025 has been registered at Police Station Nowshera under Section 223 of the BNS and Section 11 of the PCA Act. Further, investigation is underway, and efforts are being made to nab the absconding accused.
