JAMMU, July 6: Political and social activist, Jayesh Gupta has demanded separate State for Jammu region. In a handout he claimed that as long as Jammu remains with Kashmir, political imbalance will persist and Jammu will continue to face systemic disempowerment.
“Political formations like Jammu State Morcha etc have consistently voiced the demand of separate Jammu State,” Gupta further stated adding: “Jammu’s strong nationalistic character has always played a vital role in countering Pakistan-sponsored terrorism, making it a crucial region for India’s northern frontier.”
He also said that the creation of a separate Jammu State would not only strengthen democracy but also enhance security and governance in this strategically sensitive region.
Jayesh Gupta said the people of Jammu have now realized that the only path to genuine empowerment lies in the creation of a separate Jammu State comprising 10 districts of Jammu province.
He urged the Central Government to respond to the demand.
