JAMMU, June 25: Satwari Police have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered a substantial quantity of heroin-like substance during routine checking at Balol in the Gadigarh area. The arrests were made by a police team led by SHO Police Station Satwari, Inspector Jai Pal Singh, under the supervision of SDPO City South and SP City South Jammu, Ajay Sharma.
According to officials, the suspects were intercepted while riding a scooty bearing registration number JK02DK-0243 from Sher Garh Gidergalyan side towards Gadigarh. During the search, around 7 to 8 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from their possession.
The accused have been identified as Harjeet Singh alias Jambo, son of Gurmukh Singh, resident of Nanak Nagar (Jammu) and Jaswinder Singh alias Raja, son of Zarowar Singh, resident of Model Town, Gangyal. A case under FIR Number 130/2025 has been registered at Police Station Satwari under relevant sections of the NDPS Act. Further investigation is underway to trace the source of the drugs and uncover any links to wider trafficking networks.
Police sources said that Harjeet Singh is a notorious history-sheeter and hardcore criminal, with multiple cases already registered against him in different police stations. His criminal record includes cases under serious offences such as attempt to murder, arms possession, and narcotics smuggling.
The police are continuing their investigation to dismantle the network associated with the accused and bring all those involved to justice.
