UDHAMPUR, June 25: Police today arrested an inter-state narco smuggler from Sunal Dhar Road, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Majalta.
Reports said that a team from Police Station Majalta, led by SHO Sohan Singh, intercepted the accused at Sunal Dhar road when he was driving a vehicle bearing registration number RJ09GD-1984.
During the checking, 580 grams of poppy straw like substance was recovered from the possession of the accused, identified as Ashok Kumar, son of Ranjeet Kumar , resident of Nangal, Bhor, Pathankot who was arrested on the spot.
A case vide FIR No. 51/2025 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Majalta and further investigation was set into motion.
