JAMMU, June 22: Artists and cultural organisations in Jammu are experiencing significant financial hardship due to the long pending payments from Tourism Department for the services rendered during Shri Amarnath Yatra in 2024.
A handout stated that more than 200 artists including singers/musicians and dancers from various cultural groups performed in cultural/devotional programmes at Yatri Niwas, Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu.
These artists claimed that they haven’t received any payments so far from the Tourism Department, Jammu despite assurance that the payments would be cleared within three months after the conclusion of Yatra.
They said that the delay is causing financial difficulties to all the artists and cultural troupes.
All the artists have appealed to the authorities concerned for immediate release of their long pending payments.
