JAMMU, June 16: One individual was detained by police in Jewel Chowk area here today for allegedly looting people by applying different tricks.
Deepu Kumar of Jhajjar Kotli was caught by one Nasir Khan of Poonch when he was trying to extort money from the latter using certain tricks.
Khan, who was earlier looted by the same individual some 5-6 months back, today sought help of the local shopkeepers when he (accused) was making another attempt to loot him, and handed him over to the police, who paraded the accused publicly and later lodged him in custody.
By the press time, no FIR was registered against the accused.
