Dwivedi reviews functioning of G B Pant Hospital

SRINAGAR, July 12: A meeting to review the various initiatives taken by the Government to strengthen and augment the medical services in G.B. Pant Hospital was held under the chairmanship of Secretary Health and Medical Education Department M.K. Dwivedi here today.
Dr. Rafiq Ahmad Pampori, I/C Principal, GMC, Srinagar, Syed Shabir Ahmad, Joint Director (Planning) Health & Medical Education Department, Dr. Muneer Masoodi, Medical Superintendent, G.B. Pant Hospital, Shafat Jeelani, Chief Engineer, Mechanical Engineering, Muzaffar Ahmad Mattoo, Chief Engineer, (EM&RE) PDD, M. M. Gupta, MD, JKPCC and other senior officers attended the meeting.
The Principal, GMC, Srinagar gave a detailed presentation on the working of Medical College and its Associated Hospitals.
While seeking directions regarding appointment of Registrars and also Child Psychiatrist/ optholomigist and psychologists, the Secretary directed that these posts should be immediately advertised and in case of non-availability of Super Specialists (since they are rarely available in the country as such) the possibility should be explored to invite guest faculty from within and outside the State.
Dr. Muneer Masoodi expressed need for Annual Maintenance Contract for STP. Health Secretary directed the MD, JKPCC to contact the Manufacturing Company so that AMC is signed at the earliest. As the winter is round the corner the Health Secretary directed the Chief Engineer, Mechanical Engineering Department to take over the Heating and Air condition system for maintenance and operation so that the system is fully operational when needed.
Cleanness being the major issue the Principal, GMC, Srinagar was directed to improve the housekeeping and sanitation in the hospital complexes.
