JAMMU, July 4: One girl died due to food poisoning at village Jathana falling under the jurisdiction of Raj Bagh Police Station in Kathua district today while seven other family members were hospitalized.
As per reports family of Chatter Singh in village Jathana complained vomiting and pain in stomach after taking meals this afternoon. They were shifted to District Hospital Kathua for treatment where Anita Devi D/o Babu Ram was declared brought dead while others after giving first aid were referred to GMC Jammu for treatment.
Those who have been hospitalized included Chatter Singh S/o Punjab Singh, Babu Ram S/o Chatter Singh, Rekha Devi, Partap Singh, S/o Babu Ram, Deep Singh, S/o Babu Ram, Asha Devi, D/o Babu Ram and three year old girl child Bharti.
The family said soon after taking curd, rice and Chappati this afternoon they felt giddiness and pain in stomach. Soon some family members started vomiting. They then gave the food to goat who after taking the same died. The family members were shifted to District Hospital Kathua where one girl was declared brought dead and others were under going treatment.
The Raj Bagh Police has registered a case under Section 174 and started investigation.
