POONCH, May 23: The Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), Zone Poonch, kicked off its Inter-School Zone Level Competition for under-14 boys and girls at the Sports Stadium Poonch with vibrant participation from 186 students representing various Government and private schools.
The event features Volleyball, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Chess and Badminton. The opening ceremony was graced by Principal Rupinder Kour of SMSM Boys HSS Poonch as the chief guest, along with DYSSO Poonch Mohd Qasim, ZPEO Sarla Bakshi and Activity Incharge Vijay Kumar.
The competitions are being conducted under the supervision of ZPEO Sarla Rani with Pawan Kumar as the overall incharge. Results from the opening day include HSS Karmara defeating HS Degwar Terwain in Kabaddi, DNRM Girls HSS Poonch beating HS Karmara in Kho-Kho and again winning against Guru Niwas Poonch in Chess. In Volleyball, HSS Karmara triumphed over DNRM Girls HSS Poonch, while in Badminton; Zia-Ul-Uloom beat DNRM Girls HSS Poonch. Technical supervision was provided by PETs, PEMs, and REKs including Shafqat Hussain, Aman Sharma, Ruchika Sharma, Jasmeet Kour, Prabjot Kour, Rajinder Singh, Narinder Verma, Bhupinder Kour, Rajesh Kumar, Nirdosh Kumar, Gurdeep Kour, Harmik Singh, and Pawandeep Singh.
