RAJOURI, May 20: A bike suddenly caught fire in Rajouri city’s Panja Chowk area, today evening, causing chaos in the locality.
Reports said as soon as the bike owner- Mohd Rafi started the bike, smoke started coming out of the bike’s engine. Seeing this, the panic-hit driver jumped away, leaving the bike.
Flames started coming out of the bike in no time. Local shopkeepers informed the fire brigade about this and the fire tender reached the spot and controlled the fire, but by then the bike had been burnt badly.
It is said that the bike caught fire due to some technical fault. Bike owner said that he had bought the bike about eight months ago. It was working properly in the past. Only today it caught fire, may be due to some technical snag or mischief. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
