JAMMU, June 23: Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers Forum has strongly condemned the attitude of some SSRB recruited teachers who were criticizing the Government decision of giving seniority and promotion benefits to ReTs.
In a joint statement issued by district presidents of the Forum, they reminded that all trade union leaders, MLAs, and Cabinet Ministers fully supported their long pending demands.
In the beginning SSRB recruited teachers also supported our long pending demands of inclusion of 5 years service and transfer policy but when Government took a decision in favour of more than 60,000 ReTs and included 5 years period for service benefits, some of them started criticizing the decision and sending a wrong message to the teacher community, they said.
Justifying the Government move, the Forum leader said that ReT teachers have given 5 years service at less amount of Rs 1500 per month and so many youth adopted the scheme and raised the literacy rate by opening the closed schools in far flung areas and made the Government policy successful by increasing the enrollment and also decreasing the dropout rate in rural areas.
The joint statement was issued by Pankaj Verma (Kathua), Rashpaul Sharma (Samba), Chain Singh (Reasi), Khlill Khan (Poonch), Aftab Tantray (Rajouri), Mushtaq Mailk (Ramban), Mudasar Bhatt (Doda), Mudasar Ahmed Wani (Kishtwar), Kuldeep Singh (Udhampur), Sudesh Choudhary (Jammu), Sheikh Parvez (Kupwara), Khalid Rafiq Bhatt (Bandipora), Dilawar Mushtaq (Pulwama), Irshad Rahi (Baramulla), Sayed Misaq (Anantnag), Sofi Gul (Ganderbal), Bilal Ahmed Malik (Shopian), Intikhab (Kulgam), Bashir Ahmed Parrey (Budgam) and Mir Abdul Rashid (Srinagar).
