UDHAMPUR, Apr 22: Five days course on “Use of Space application in policing including drone technology, interception and investigation” here, commenced today at Sher-e Kashmir Police Academy, Udhampur.
Fifteen officers from different wings/units of J&K Police are participating in the training programme. This comprehensive course aims to equip law enforcement professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to leverage space applications for enhanced policing strategies. The utilization of drone technology will be a key focal point, providing participants with demonstration in drone operations for surveillance, reconnaissance, and technical response.
On this occasion an inaugural function was organized Ramnish Gupta, JKPS, SSP, Dy. Rector (Admn) was the chief guest. Gupta welcomed all the participants on behalf of Director SKPA. In his inaugural address, Gupta said that the use of space applications in policing offers an un-presidential level of surveillance and communication with access to satellite imaginary and remote sensing technologies which allows us to make informed decision and coordinate our response efforts more effectively. He also said that the deployment of drone technology in policing will definitely revolutionize our ability to together conduct search and rescue operations and monitor large crowds.
The course is being coordinated by Inspector Viahal Manhas assisted by SI Dhian Singh, member faculty of SKPA.
