UDHAMPUR, Apr 10: With the arrest of accused, Udhampur Police solved a theft case that took place in Tikri three days back and also recovered the stolen items.
On April 7, 2025, Police Post Tikri received a complaint from one Balbir Singh, son of Sardar Singh of Mand, Udhampur stating therein that some unknown thieves had stolen gold ornaments from his home. In this regard, a case FIR No. 47/2025 under relevant section of law was registered in PS Rehambal.
Taking the cognizance of the matter, a special police team led by ICPP Tikri was formed to solve the case and nab the culprits. During the investigation several suspects were rounded up by the police team and put to sustained questioning. One such suspect, namely Gopal Kumar alias Gopalu, son of Hem Raj of Mand East, Udhampur, confessed his involvement in the said case following which he was arrested by the Police team.
On the confession of the said accused, stolen property (gold ornaments) were also recovered by the police team.
