ICAI hosts seminar on ‘MSME sector growth, opportunities’ in J&K

SRINAGAR, Apr 3: A seminar on “MSME Sector – Growth & Opportunities” organized by the Jammu & Kashmir Branch of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), in collaboration with the Committee on MSME & Startups, ICAI, was held here today.
The seminar aimed to provide key insights into the evolving MSME landscape, government initiatives, financial support mechanisms and the role of chartered accountants in fostering growth in the sector.
The event commenced with an inaugural address by Sourav Pargal, Chairman, ICAI-J&K Branch (NIRC), who underscored the significance of continuous learning in the audit landscape and the crucial contribution of chartered accountants in shaping the MSME sector.
Chief Guest, Anil Goyal, Director, J&K Bank, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the critical role of MSMEs in regional economic development.
He highlighted the various financial support initiatives undertaken by the banking sector to empower MSMEs in Jammu & Kashmir.
The speakers including, Dr Raj Chawla and Vineet Kohli, discussed the on-ground challenges faced by MSMEs and potential solutions.
The event served as a crucial knowledge-sharing platform, equipping professionals and business owners with actionable insights.
Among others who attended the seminar included Sourav Pargal (Chairman), Jatin Malhotra (Secretary), and Ayush Mahajan (Executive Member).
Khateeb Yousof (Convenor, Kashmir CPE Chapter) also played an instrumental role in organizing the event in Srinagar.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the invaluable contributions of speakers, organizers and participants.
