SRINAGAR, Mar 15: The Directorate of Health Services Kashmir (DHSK) has ordered an inquiry into alleged negligence at Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Chadoora.
Officials said that following the circulation of a video on social media on March 14, 2025, DHSK initiated an investigation into the incident at SDH Chadoora in Budgam district.
“The inquiry team will conduct an in-depth analysis of electronic records, CCTV footage, and duty rosters, as well as interview patients and staff members to establish the facts, determine responsibility for any errors of omission or commission, and recommend necessary action to prevent such incidents in the future,” officials stated.
The inquiry committee will be led by Dr. Jehanziab Tanki, Deputy Director Health Services, as Chairman, with Dr. Mohd. Iqbal Bhat, Principal RIH&FW Dhobiwan, and Dr. Shafqat Nazir Bhat, Zonal Medical Officer SR Gunj Srinagar, as members.
Officials said that committee will also examine whether the video was deliberately staged or edited to defame a busy Government hospital by vested interests who have previously attempted to mislead the public, “as seen in similar cases at SDH Bijbehara and CHC Pattan, where fake or orchestrated videos were uploaded on social media.”
If such manipulation is found, officials stated that the committee would recommend action under relevant legal provisions against those responsible.
Notably, the video circulating on social media allegedly shows a dog sitting on a chair in a ward, with no medical staff present.
DHSK reiterated its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and stated that it will not tolerate any laxity at any level.
