JAMMU, Mar 11: A health checkup cum awareness camp was organized by Vedaan Health Care Unit in collaboration with Apollo Diagnostic Laboratory at the Senior Citizens Rejuvenation Centre (SCRC), Trikuta Nagar.
The camp aimed at providing free medical facilities, including tests for Sugar, Uric Acid, and Blood Pressure, under the expert guidance of Dr Richa Sharma, Microbiologist, and her specialized team.
The event was presided over by K S Samyal, president of SCRC, while Dr Shreyansh Kumar Jain, State Yoga Commissioner, graced the occasion as the guest of honour. Various diagnostic tests such as Blood Tests, Urine Tests, Sputum Analysis, FNAC, and Biopsy were conducted, benefiting a total of 45 patients who received medical examinations and necessary treatments during the camp.
T C Taggar, general secretary of SCRC, spread awareness about the centre’s activities, aims, and objectives. He emphasized the importance of community-driven health initiatives in ensuring the well-being of senior citizens.
Dr Shreyansh emphasized the importance of holistic well-being while addressing the attendees, sharing essential health tips to boost immunity and maintain a healthy lifestyle. He highlighted key aspects of wellness, including consuming a balanced diet rich in protein and fiber, staying adequately hydrated, and engaging in regular physical activity, such as a minimum 30-minute walk and light stretching.
He also stressed the importance of routine health check-ups, managing or quitting alcohol and smoking, and maintaining a healthy weight while keeping blood pressure and cholesterol levels in check. Additionally, he encouraged social engagement, spiritual wellness through prayers and meditation, and fostering a positive mindset to support overall well-being.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Romesh Kumar, financial secretary of SCRC.
