Cultural Fest ‘Jashn-e-J&K’ concludes

JAMMU, Feb 17: Three-day cultural fest, Jashn-e-Jammu & Kashmir, organized by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) in collaboration with J&K Artists Association, concluded here today.
The festival witnessed an overwhelming participation of over 300 artists.
Inaugurated on February 13 by J&K LG, Manoj Sinha, the festival captivated spectators with a vibrant display of the region’s rich cultural heritage.
The valedictory ceremony on the final day of the event was graced by Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi, Chairperson, J&K Waqf Board as chief guest.
In her address, she stressed that such platforms are essential for fostering cultural exchange, unity and appreciation of traditional arts.
The event commenced with a warm welcome by Harvinder Kour, Secretary JKAACL who highlighted Academy’s commitment to preserve and promote the diverse cultural legacy of J&K.
The festival featured enthralling performances by renowned artists including Gulzar Ahmad Ganaie & Party, Mohd Yaseen Gundpori & Party (Chakri), J.R Jackson & Group, Suksham Guleria (Dogri Dances), Heamal Cultural Group (Rouf Dance), Shamshad Begam, Shauri Shah Dhamali Dance Centre, Kashmir Bhagat Folk Theatre, Mohan Mistri & Group, Mohan Lala & Group and Om Prakash & Party.
The festival concluded with the felicitation of artists and organizers by Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi in the presence of Harvinder Kour, Secretary JKAACL; Prerna Raina, Special Secretary, GAD; Raj Kumar Gupta, president, J&K Gaushala Samiti; Sanjeev Rana, Additional Secretary, JKAACL and other distinguished dignitaries.
Proceedings were conducted by Kusum Tickoo.
The event concluded with vote of thanks by Gulzar Ahmad Bhat, chairman J&K Artists Association.
