DODA, Feb 15: In a significant move to address the concerns and welfare of retired military personnel and war widows, a mega ex-servicemen rally was organized in the hilly region of Thathri by the Headquarters 26 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) of the Indian Army.
The rally saw the participation of 300 ex-servicemen from the Thathri and Gandoh sub-divisions, along with 25 war widows (Veer Naaris). The primary objective of the rally was to redress grievances, extend support to the ex-servicemen, and reassure war widows that the nation remains committed to their welfare.
The event was inaugurated by Brigadier Sunil Mishra, Commander of 9 Sector Rashtriya Rifles, along with Deputy Commissioner (DC) Doda, Harvinder Singh.
Speaking at the occasion, Brigadier Sunil Mishra emphasized that the Indian Army functions as one large family, including both serving personnel and retired veterans.”Our aim in organizing this mega rally is to address the issues of ex-servicemen from this region and to reassure the Veer Naaris whose husbands or sons have laid down their lives for the nation. The Army will never forget their supreme sacrifice and will always stand by them,” said Brigadier Mishra.
Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh also interacted with the participants and assured them that their concerns, especially those related to civil administration, would be resolved on a priority basis. He directed officials to take immediate steps to address grievances related to pensions, land issues, and welfare schemes for ex-servicemen and war widows.
