NMC’s plea to 7th Pay Commission Chairman

JAMMU,  May 25: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) has urged upon the Chairman of  the 7th Pay Commission, Justice (Retd) Ashok Mathur to immediately recommend to the newly elected NDA Government at the Centre, in its interim report to sanction 20 % interim relief  and merger of 50 % DA in favour of Central and State employees and pensioners.
Addressing rally of  NMC activists, employees and pensioners of the State here today, Subhash Shastri, president of the organisation and a noted trade unionist, appealed the Justice Ashok Mathur and other members of the 7th Pay Commission, to start negotiations with the representatives of the associations/ unions/ federations of  both Central and State employees and pensioners so that report could be finalized and submitted to the Government in stipulated period.
Mr Shastri also appealed to the Commission to suggest early merger  of  50% of  the DA, being paid to the employees and pensioners, with basic pay as recommended by earlier Pay Commissions. He said as there is 18 months time to complete the report, the Commission should visit all
States in the country to obtain views of the State Government employees and pensioners’ bodies.
The Trade Union leader also suggested formulation of a National Pay Policy for both Central and State Governments employees. He also stressed for strict enforcement of CP Fund deduction scheme to benefit daily rated workers and casual labourers in all the departments and protect their right. Shastri also demanded enhancement of Medical allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 1000 per month in favour of employees and pensioners. He  projected pending demands of daily rated, adhoc and other employees.
