JAMMU : In another case of fratricide, three army jawans were killed today when a soldier fired indiscriminately on his colleagues before shooting self at a forward post along Line of Control (Loc) in Poonch district.
“The incident took place when Sepoy Darshan Lal posted at Maidan Post had some altercation with another colleague identified namely as Ranjoot Singh, sources said, adding, “heated arguments took ugly turn when Darshan Lal opened fire with his service weapon at two of his colleagues injuring them critically.”
“After shooting his colleagues, Darshan Lal shot self, sources said and added, “meantime hearing the gunshot other jawans rushed to the spot and evacuated the profusely bleeding injured to military hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.”
“The Army has ordered a Court of inquiry to ascertain the reasons for the incident, official sources said more details are awaited. (AGENCIES)
