FC I&C, Chamber president call on Governor

JAMMU, Apr 21: Khurshid A. Ganai, Financial Commissioner, Industries and Commerce, Department, called on N.N. Vohra, Governor at Raj Bhavan here today. This was his first meeting with the Governor after joining his present assignment.
Mr. Ganai briefed the Governor about issues relating to industrial promotion, the obtaining entrepreneurial environment and the status of cottage and village industries, handicrafts and handloom sector in the State.
The Governor stressed the importance of every possible effort being made to secure balanced growth of the State through sustainable utilization of all available natural resources in the State.  In this context, the Governor urged Mr. Ganai to take early steps for the scientific exploitation of the Sapphire mine at Padder.
Y.V. Sharma, President, Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industries also called on Mr Vohra.
Mr. Sharma discussed with the Governor varied problems faced by the industrialists and traders in Jammu region and the efforts made by the Chamber to secure resolution of some of the issues which are thwarting rapid industrial growth. He also informed the Governor about the Chamber’s plans for making the business environment more conducive in the State.
