Sarpanch killed by LeT

Srinagar, Apr 18:  “Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) last night killed the Sarpanch belonging to People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Awantipora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district”, Deputy Inspector General of Police, South Kashmir, Vijay Kumar, told Excelsior.
Kumar said that Sarpanch Mohammad Amin Pandith, was killed by LeT militants. He said that three militants, most of them foreigners, entered the house of one Farooq Ahmad Bhat, and asked for address of the Sarpanch.
The DIG said that Bhat led the militants to the Pandith’s house who asked him to accompany them. Initially, he refused to accompany them but was forcibly taken along by the militants who later on killed him some 500 metres away from his house.
Kumar said that all the three militants were dressed in combat and were speaking Urdu.
