Police deploys anti-drugs squads in Rajouri-Poonch

RAJOURI, Apr 18:  Devising an effective strategy to deal with the menace of drug peddling and traffic rules violation, Deputy Inspector General of  Police  Rajouri-Poonch range AK Attri has issued instructions for constituting special anti-drugs and anti-traffic violation squads in  both the districts.
The DIG  has claimed that  fresh  instructions have been issued  to the superintendents of police of twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch to constitute squads, aimed to chalk out a more solid strategy to deal with the menace of drug peddling as well as violation of traffic norms especially including teenagers driving vehicles.  The squads have been asked to check the import of banned drugs and narcotic substances from the outer areas as well as the marketing of the same in twin border districts.
SP Rajouri and SP Poonch have also been instructed to constitute special squads under their close monitoring to keep a vigil on the movement and activities of people involved in drug peddling and also organize  camps and  programmes  to create awareness among people about NDPS Act. He also directed to check the violation of traffic norms in the area.
