BUDGAM, Apr 17: Senior National Conference (NC) leader and Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs, Abdul Rahim Rather today cautioned the people against the growing tendency of communal polarization for the political gains by some political parties like PDP and BJP, adding that it was not only immoral but most condemnable.
He said desperate attempts are being made by these parties to exploit regional and religious sentiments of the people, as they have no agenda except hollow promises and are relying on lie and deceit for their sustenance.
Asserting that interests of the State are safe in the hands of NC Rather today advised the people not to get caught in the political booby trap laid by these opportunist political parties. He said NC is People’s movement which has a track record of fighting for the rights and honour of the State people.
Addressing a series of election public meetings organised in favour of NC President and candidate for Srinagar Parliamentary constituency, Dr Farooq Abdullah, at Gogji Pathri, Kotabal, Bonen and Buzgoo areas of Tehsil Chadoora, the Finance Minister said that alliance between NC and Congress parties has been forged in the larger interests of the people of the State, adding that both the parties have secular credentials and common goal to usher the State to new heights of development and prosperity.
He said communal polarization and sectarian divide is most dangerous for integrity of the society adding that such tactics have no room in a civilized society.
Rather said BJP has unveiled its nefarious designs to create hatred and sectarian divide among the communities by promising abrogation of Article 370, introduction of Uniform civil code and construction of Ram Mandir at Babri Masjid site in its election manifesto, adding the people should defeat this sinister plan of BJP with full might.
