JAMMU, Apr 14: Police today rescued a kidnapped girl and arrested the accused from New Plot area, falling under the jurisdiction of Rehari police station.
As per police sources, on March 21, 2014 father of a girl hailing from New Plot lodged a complaint with police post Rehari that his daughter has been kidnapped by a married man namely Wasim Ahmad, son of Bashir Ahmad, a resident of Kotranka, Bakori, district Rajouri.
After registering a case under Section 366 and 109 RPC police started investigation.
During the course of investigation, police team from Rehari police post led by SI Rattan Singh conducted series of raids at various locations and finally on specific inputs, arrested the accused along with the kidnapped girl from New Plot.
After conducting medical examination, the girl was restored to family members.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
