JAMMU, July 30: Police in Jammu District today claimed they have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 19 grams of heroin-like-substance from their possession.
A police official said that during routine patrolling duty at Bajalta Morh naka, a police team signalled a car for checking but the driver and another person sitting inside the vehicle tried to escape on seeing the police.
“They were, however, overpowered,” he said, adding that when they were put to search, police team recovered 19 grams of heroin-like-substance from their possession.
He identified the accused as Mudasir Ahmed Maggi and Muneer Ahmed Beig, both residents of Shalipora Sumbal, Bandipora.
The accused have been arrested and booked in case FIR number 211/2024 under Sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Nagrota and further investigation taken up.
