POONCH, Apr 1: The police claimed to have arrested an alleged smuggler along with 900 gms of charas from Poonch area today.
A police spokesman said that acting on a tip off, a police party from Poonch led by SHO Sanjeev Slathia, under the supervision of SP Poonch, Shamsheer Hussain, intercepted a Tata Sumo No. JK-12/7689 near Sher-e-Kashmir bridge on the outskirts of the city here today. It was coming from Mendhar to Poonch.
During intensive search of the vehicle, 900 gms charas, concealed under the seat cover was recovered by police party. One Mohd Farid, son of Mohd Rashid, resident of Jandrola in Poonch was arrested in this connection. A case FIR No. 37/ 2014 has been registered in this connection.
