People in Khurag village without power supply for 40 days

GANDERBAL, Mar 17: The villagers of Khurag in Sherpatri area of Ganderbal district are without power supply for last 45 days after the local transformer developed a snag.
Expressing serious concern over the callousness of the Government and PDD towards the people of the village People’s Conference (PC) leader and Trade Unionist, Mir Ghulam Rasool Butwani has demanded immediate restoration of power supply to the village.
He said the people are facing hardships and it is astonishing that the Government was not paying any attention in restoring the power supply to the village.
Mir also demanded installation of transformer at Waskura near Mata Roop Bhawani temple and construction of a wall round the temple which has been damaged due the heavy rains and snow.
Peer Farooq Ahmed Farooqi another PC leader said that people in the area were facing power failure as no one in the administration took pains in restoring the power supply after the electric wires got snapped due to heavy snow fall.
