JAMMU, Mar 12: MLA Raipur Damana, Bharat Bushan today alleged violation of Model Code of Conduct by the authorities of State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) on the instructions of the CAPD and Transport Minister in making allotments to private truck operators for carriage of ration there by violating the set norms in the Department.
In a complaint to Chief Electoral Officer of the State today, Mr Bushan alleged that the SRTC illegally relaxed the terms and conditions of the set rules on the instructions of Minister to benefit his blue eyed boys while the Model Code of Conduct was in force in the State.
He said the SRTC for engaging carriage contractors periodically to cater to the left over requirement of trucks of various Government departments and under takings invites the tenders from the eligible parties possessing adequate experience and having proper capacity to execute the contract. But the same was thrown to winds by the authorities of the Corporation on the behest of the Minister who is also functioning as ex-officio chairman of the Corporation.
The MLA sought immediate intervention of CEO and action against the defaulters for violating MCC.
