RAJOURI, Mar 12: BJP  State president and Party candidate from Jammu-Poonch, Lok Sabha seat Jugal Kishore Sharma today said that NC-Congress coalition Government has abandoned people of Sunderbani and Kalakot despite the fact that both the constituencies were represented by the NC and the Congress for years.
While addressing a series of corner meetings at Sunderbani, Sodra, Kalideh, Panigala, Bajabain, Dhok Banyad, Kabila, Bhalwal, Thangri, Daribattal, Jaba, Sayal, Seri, Gagrot, Charala, Ghai, Nowshera in the Sunderbani-Kalakot area today, Mr Sharma said bulk of population in these areas is leading a wretched life. The areas lack civic amenities while healthcare and educational facilities are almost non-existent.
He said most of the areas remain in the dark as there is no power supply. The roads are in very bad shape. The agrarian community constitutes the most neglected lot in this belt which is rich in natural resources, including green-gold and coal deposits.
He said the people of these areas are suffering due to the official apathy. The border migrants are seething with anger as the NC-Congress coalition government has utterly failed to address any of their human concerns. Most of them are living a miserable life as the Government has not done anything to mitigate their hardships and apply balm to their wounds. The plight of the youth of the area is also highly pathetic as they are unemployed, he added.
Mr Sharma said the much-talked about SKEWPY scheme has not benefited the youth of the area as the funds available under this scheme are spend mostly in the Valley to accommodate the Kashmiri youth,”. He accused the NC-Congress coalition of ignoring the youth of the area. He said during the last more than three years the NC-Congress Government disbursed Rs 89.44 crore as Voluntary Service Allowance (VSA), but the share of Jammu province was only Rs 20.40 crore. Kashmir region was given Rs 69.04 crore,.  “This disparity should expose the anti-Jammu bias of the Congress and the NC,” he added.
The BJP candidate for the Lok Sabha seat also charged the Congress with going back on its election time solemn promises and cautioned the people not to walk into the Congress trap once again.
