Former Mayor Rajinder Sharma starts ‘Jan Suraaj’ movement

JAMMU, MAY 13: Former Mayor, Rajinder Sharma today started ‘Jan Suraaj’ movement, in Ward number 30 of Jammu West Assembly Constituency.
In this regard a meeting was held here today, in which former Mayor interacted with the locals of area.
During the meeting people demanded that a good political system that may work for addressing public issues is the need of the hour in Jammu as there are a lot of public problems in every nook and corner of J&K.
It was resolved in the meeting to give a practical shape to a public body under the name of ‘Jan Suraaj’ wherein the body will work with people having good and noble thoughts and will include collective efforts of all for the welfare of all.
Addressing to the people, Rajinder Sharma said that stalwarts like Maharaja Hari Singh gave the slogan of quit Kashmir much before Mahatama Gandhi had started quit India movement.
He said, “There are many other remarkable achievements of Maharaja which also include empowering women and working for the upliftment of tribals and other marginalised sections of the society.”
“Jammu has produced Chief Justice Supreme Court of India, Chiefs of Indian army and much more including Pandit Prem Nath Dogra, who became head of Jan Sangh. Then how come that people of Jammu are worried for oriented leadership,” Sharma said and added that people want that their leader should be man of integrity, educated and the one who remains sensitive towards the society.
Among others who attended the meeting included Kapil Chib, former JMC Councillor, BJP Mandal President Keshav Chopra, Vicky Kumar, Beena Mahajan, BJP contestant and prominent citizens of the area.
