JAMMU, Feb 27: Keeping a tight vigil over sale of liquor on the auspicious occasion of Shivratri, Janipur police today arrested a bootlegger along with large quantity of illicit liquor.
As per police sources, on specific inputs, police party from Janipur police station headed by SI Hilal Azhar intercepted a person, who was moving suspiciously near main chowk, Janipur.
During checking, police recovered 45 pouches of illicit liquor and arrested the bootlegger, who has been identified as Beer Singh, son of Bhagat Singh of Purani Mandi.
A case under FIR number 43/14 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Janipur police station and investigation started.
