JAMMU, Apr 2: With the arrest of one individual, Police here in Nagrota area claimed today they have solved a theft case by recovering the valuables worth Rs 3 lakh.
A police spokesperson said on February 6, 2024, a written complaint was lodged at Police Station Nagrota by one Chanchal Devi claiming theft at her home the same day while she was out to purchase some garments.
On the complaint of the woman, he said, a case FIR number 46/2024 under sections 454/380 IPC was registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
During investigation, a team of Police Station Nagrota headed by SHO Nagrota Inspector Rajeshwar Singh along with incharge Police Post Jagti Colony PSI Ishfaq Tantrey under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Aakash Kohli raided several places and detained one Akash Khushu of Muthi Domana for questioning, said the police spokesperson.
During sustained questioning, the detained person confessed to his involvement in the crime and on his disclosure, the stolen gold items worth around Rs 3 lakh were recovered from his possession, he added.
