JAMMU, Mar 30: In its meeting held today under the chairmanship of Rajesh Jamwal (president), PHE Workers Welfare Association (PHEWWA) discussed demands of the employees.
The Association warned the Government and Jal Shakti Administration to solve JSD employees’ demands such as conducting of DPC meeting, modification of SRO 380, regularization of daily wagers, sanction of Rs 5 lakh gratuity in favour of retiring and retired daily wagers and release of all pending backlog wages of the workers, without any further delay.
In the meeting, various organizational issues such as reorganization of divisional level units (which have become defunct) were also discussed. It was decided to hold fresh elections in Reasi, Nowshera, Kathua, Rajouri and Poonch in first phase.
The Association members expressed their concern on the anti-employees attitude of LG Administration which has been issuing orders to curb the trade union rights. They urged the LG Administration to withdraw its impugned and so called orders at the earliest and restore the joint consultative mechanism in the interest of the Government as well as serving employees.
