JAMMU, Feb 23: Various State Government departments have continued with the practice of tabling important reports after much delay thereby defeating the purpose behind laying the same on the floor of the State Legislature.
The practice is notwithstanding the concern expressed by several Opposition members in the past sessions of the Legislature.
Conveying that such departments were not ready to mend their ways, Minister for Finance, Abdul Rahim Rather, on behalf of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, tabled half-yearly reports of the State Vigilance Organization for the years 2011 and 2012.
These reports indicate the work done by the Vigilance Organization during this period. But what purpose it will serve at the present juncture remains a million dollar question.
