New administrative units

Sir,
The creation of new administrative units by the Government is a praiseworthy step. With this initiative, people across the State will be benefitted as there will be more job opportunities in Government Sector. One can call it decentralization of administration

Sir,
Wheather the creation of new administrative units facilitates good governance or creates dissatisfaction and acrimony in the areas which still feel discrimination remains to be seen. A more relevant point is to harmonise the units so that the concept of single line administration and speedy development could become possible. Presently we have separate blocks for seperate deparments. Our community block may comprise two or three educational blocks or an educational block may fall in two community blocks.
Similarly, a medical block has an area which criss-crosses one educational and one rural development block, creating confusion and hindering the smooth functioning. The. units need to be reorganied. There should be one Community Development Block which will be run administrativly by a senior officer, called Block Develoment Officer. Educational, medical and other blocks should fall exclusively in this developmental block.Even the assembly segments should be organised blockwise. It will be in tune with the three tier Panchayati Raj System.Panchayat Halqa,Block and District should be the units.Tehsil is an outdated concept. It’s functions  can be discharged by the B D O.
