SRINAGAR, Jan 16: Police today claimed to have cracked two burglary cases across the Valley. A police spokesman said a burglary case was cracked in Leh within 4 hours after a restaurant owner, Falail Singh, lodged a complaint at that four gas cylinders were stolen from his restaurant.
“An FIR No. 03/2014 U/S 457,380 /RPC was registered and a team headed by sub inspector Meraj Giri,” the spokesman said.
During the investigation four suspects were called for questioning.
One of them Rakesh Kumar alias Raku son of Sham Lal of Dhar Road, Udhampur confessed to the crime.
In another similar incident, police recovered 17 gas cylinders and arrested the accused.
The spokesman said a complaint was filed that 17 gas cylinders were stolen from a domestic gas counter shop at Aripal, Tral in Pulwama district.
A case FIR No.06/2014 under section 380, 457 RPC was registered in police station Tral and investigation was taken up.
Police after getting a tip-off recovered the stolen LPG gas cylinders from the possession of Mohammad Shafi Mir alias Shafi Tinga son of Assadullah Mir of Dadsara, Mushtaq Ahmad Bhand son of Ghulam Mohammad Bandh of Baragam and Gurdeep Singh alias Deepu son Khujoor Singh of Gadpora, Tral.
“All the accused persons have been arrested and are being questioned for further investigations,” the spokesman said.
