SRINAGAR, Nov 7: A meeting of Pensioner’s and Senior Citizens Welfare Society was held under the chairmanship of its president and senior Trade Union leader, Mir Ghulam Rasool Botvani where in an appeal was made to the LG administration to release 4% DA already due to the pensioner’s and employees with effect from July 1 this year as the Central Government has already released the same.
The meeting further requested for release of 18 months DA arrears already kept with held by the Government besides the 20% enhancement of monthly pension be considered at least from the age of 65 years as the pensioners during their old ages can’t fulfil their requirements on their monthly pension.
Sheikh Ghulam Mohiuddin Shilvati general secretary , D N Sadhu State secretary of the Welfare Society and other members also participated in the meeting. They hoped that LG administration will consider all demands taking into consideration of coming festival of Diwali. It was also stated that delegate conference of Pensioners and Senior Citizens Welfare Society will be held on November 16 at Ganderbal in Kashmir.
