REASI, Jan 7: A youth hailing from village Sirla in tehsil and district Reasi, committed suicide by hanging at his residence last night.
A police spokesman told the Excelsior that 30-year-old Mohd Hanief, son of Farman Ali of Sirla village committed suicide by hanging in his house last night. His mother saw son’s body hanging from a wooden support of their house of tin-sheets roof, with the support of a rope. She raised alarm and neighbours and other family members rushed there. They shifted the youth to hospital where he was declared dead. The police registered a case and started investigation. The woman told police that Hanief was alone in his nearby house and his wife had gone to her parents house. The police sent body for postmortem and later handed over to the family for last rites.
