UDHAMPUR, Oct 6: Continuing its campaign against drugs and narcotics, Police today recovered more than 15 kg poppy straw from a truck at Roun Domail, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Udhampur.
The truck, bearing Registration Number PB07CC-1629, was on way from Kashmir valley towards Punjab. A Police team, led by SHO Udhampur, Inspector Raghubir Singh and assisted by PSI Rahul Jamwal, under the supervision of SSP Udhampur Dr Vinod Kumar, intercepted the truck during routine checking of vehicles.
During checking, the Police team recovered 15.15 kg of poppy straw from the truck, following which its driver, identified as Rajinder Kumar, son of Amar Chand of Pind Tonsa, Tehsil Balachor, District Nawanshahr Punjab, was arrested on the spot
In this connection, case FIR under section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur and further investigation has been taken up.
