Srinagar, Jan 1: The Jammu and Kashmir High Court today upheld it earlier decision regarding the posting of Tehsildar at Kreeri and said court has nothing to do with the location of Tehsil office.
A single bench of the High Court comprising Justice Ali Muhammad Magray said: “The court said the order does not provide for location of Tehsildar’s office, therefore, needs no clarification.”
The decision has come as a major relief to thousands of people in Wagoora area who are protesting for past six days against the misuse of court order by local administration, which had allowed the posting of Tehsildar at Kreeri village.
Senior advocate Bashir Ahmad Bashir, who appeared on behalf of residents of the Wagoora area argued that the respondents have misinterpreted the court order by stationing Tehsildar at Kreeri instead of Wagura, which has created law and order problem.
The court dismissed the argument saying it cannot be accepted as there is no direction from the court regarding locating of the Tehsil office.
