UDHAMPUR, Aug 22: Police at Chenani near here today arrested a person with 13.500 kg poppy straw.
As per sources during a routine checking of vehicles at Naka point Motorshed Chenani, cops recovered 13.500 kg of poppy straw like substance from the boot space of a vehicle of Mahindra Verito make bearing registration number PB35Z-2447.
Driver of the vehicle Dilshad Khan, 25, son of Saudagar Khan, resident of Maholi Khurd, Tehsil Ahmadgarh District Sangrur (Punjab) was arrested on the spot.
A case in this regard was registered and investigation started.
