JAMMU, Dec 21: Two temporary employees of Rural Development Department working in Billawar block of district Kathua were terminated while another, placed under suspension for committing forgery and tempering office record for effecting fraudulent drawl of Rs 87,000 from their office.
The action was taken by the Block Development Officer (BDO) Billawar, Rajeev Khajuria when he detected the fraud. He suspended Village Level Worker ( VLW/ Gram Sevak) Des Raj and disengaged/ terminated two other temporary workers namely Aman Kumar – Technical Assistant and Anchal Kumar- Gram Rozgar Sahayak (GRS), working under MNREGA Scheme of the Rural Development Department.
The BDO Mr Khajuria when contacted said that these employees were charge-sheeted for tempering office record, committing forgery, misconduct and corruption. He disclosed that they prepared fake documents for effecting withdrawal of Rs 87000. He said that higher authorities in Jammu were informed about the matter and the action taken.
