JAMMU, July 22: Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Jayesh Gupta today lambasted the Jammu and Kashmir Administration for lingering on the construction work of Artificial Lake on River Tawi in Jammu.
Addressing a press conference here today, Jayesh Gupta said even after many years and huge expenditure, the Artificial Lake is nowhere in sight. He said it’s been more than 8 years since the work of Artificial Lake started in Jammu but it’s not completed yet.
“When the work of Artificial Lake started in Jammu, People of Jammu were very excited and thrilled that a beautiful artificial lake will soon come up in Jammu and increase the footfall of tourists in the City of Temples but the dreams of Jammuites regarding Artificial Lake was shattered as even after so many years, even 30% work of the Artificial Lake has not been completed.
Gupta alleged that a large scale corruption has taken place under the garb of this project as so much of the expenditure has been done but results are negligible on the ground. He said that a thorough judicial should be done in a time bound manner in this project and those found indulged in corruption should be booked and put behind the bars. He said that punishment should be given to the corrupt at the earliest so that people think many times before doing such wrongful acts.
