REASI, June 2:Director Skill Development Department, Sudershan Kumar, today visited Government Polytechnic Reasi.
Accompanied by Principal Ramban, Er Vivek Mahajan, and officials from Government ITI, the Director inspected the institution’s infrastructure, including labs, smart classrooms, SBDU, workshops, library, and the newly constructed cafeteria.
He also inquired about the newly purchased machinery and equipment to enhance the institution’s infrastructure.
During the visit, the institution extended a traditional welcome to Director Sudershan Kumar and former Principal Er Vivek Mahajan. Students presented a precise overview of the institution’s establishment and highlighted the vibrant places of Reasi district, such as pilgrimage shrines, infrastructure and power development projects, historical landmarks, and the recent discovery of lithium deposits.
The students showcased local Dogri cultural performances, including singing, dances, and a skit on Nasha Mukht Bharat.
The Director felicitated meritorious students, especially Lucky Bhagat, a student of Electrical Engineering, for winning a gold medal at the National Judo Competition, 2023. The Director inaugurated a month-long intra-college sports meet with the theme “Khelega India Badhega India.”
Expressing appreciation, the Director commended the efforts of the staff, faculty, and students for organizing such cultural events with limited resources.
He provided valuable insights and inspiration for the students’ future and career. Principal Er Vivek Mahajan acknowledged the efforts of the Polytechnic team and motivated the students to pursue their studies and future careers with dedication.
Principal Er Vinay Gupta thanked the Director for his empathetic support, selfless guidance, and valuable cooperation in obtaining AICTE approval for the commencement of the third branch of Mechanical Engineering.
Both the Director and Principal Er Vivek Mahajan participated in a plantation drive organized by the Polytechnic within the institution.
