JAMMU, May 2: In a Public Interest Litigation seeking modern slaughter houses in J&K, a Division Bench of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court comprising Chief Justice N. Kotiswar Singh and Justice Wasim Sadiq Nargal today directed Senior AAG SS Nanda appearing for Srinagar Municipal Corporation to file composite compliance report without any fail, before the next date.
After hearing Advocate Sheikh Shakeel Ahmed for the PIL, the Division Bench observed, “Harshwardhan Gupta, counsel appearing for the Jammu Municipal Corporation, submits that the report in terms of order dated 13.12.2022 is ready to be filed”, adding “he may do so within a week’s time by furnishing the copy thereof to the other side also”.
During the course of hearing, Vishal Sharma, Deputy Solicitor of India submitted that he has submitted the report on behalf of the Union Territory of Ladakh as well. The DB directed S S Nanda, Senior Additional Advocate General appearing for the Srinagar Municipal Corporation to file the report, without any fail, before the next date with an advance copy thereof to the other side.
