JAMMU, Mar 10: NSS and Red Ribbon Club of Government SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu in collaboration with Radio Mirchi 98.3 organized an awareness programme on “Drug De-addiction and AIDS Control” under the aegis of IQAC and G20.
The programme was to aware the students to get registered for Jammu Half Marathon 3rd edition. The event was organized to give message to the youth for adopting healthy life style and come forward voluntarily to get tested their HIV status.
Radio Jockey – RJ Rohit, Jasmeet Sharma, Producer Mirchi 98.3, Shwetima Jamwal and Programming Head Mirchi 98.3 conducted the whole event. The programme started with welcome address of Prof Savita Jamwal, Convener Red Ribbon Club and ANO, NCC. More than 200 students participated in the programme.
Principal, Dr Surinder Kumar while addressing the gathering spoke about various ill effects of drugs usage and emphasized on adopting healthy life for better living. Prof Archana Kaul, Principal GDC Ramban also attended the event.
The programme was coordinated by Dr Monika Malhotra IQAC Coordinator and G20 Awareness Committee and Prof Savita Jamwal (ANO NCC and Coordinator Red Ribbon Club).
The students actively participated in various engaging and exciting activities such as singing, dancing, pushups, poetry, etc. Three students namely Ajay Kotwal, Raghu and Naman were selected and invited for a live show in Radio Mirchi 98.3 on 10th March at 5 PM.
The faculty members present in the event were Prof Deepshikha Sharma, Prof Harpreet Kour, Dr Jagmeet, Dr Sarabjeet, Dr Shipra, Dr Deepak Pathania, Prof Apfan Ali, Prof Rishu, Prof Ramandeep, Prof Vaishali and Dr Jasvinder Singh.
