POONCH, Feb 22: On the recommendation of Police, ARTO Poonch, Basharat Hussain suspended six driving licenses and one route permit of the vehicle involved in bovine smuggling, rash driving, overloading and showing stunt on the road.
As per the information, continuing its drive against the bovine smugglers, Poonch Police besides registration of FIRs, detention of such criminals under PSA, has also taken a strict parallel action for cancellation of driving licenses, route permits of vehicles through concerned ARTOs for their involvement in bovine smuggling and other crime related to cruelty to animals.
Beside seizing the vehicles involved in bovine smuggling, a detailed report regarding involvement of drivers/vehicles in bovine smuggling, rash driving, overloading were also prepared and sent to ARTO Poonch in respect of the cancellation of driving licenses of drivers and 01 vehicle permit bearing registration number JK12-2725 for their involvement in the matter.
Consequently, on the initiative taken by Poonch Police, ARTO Poonch has suspended 6 licenses and permit of vehicle bearing registration Number JK12-2725, while in remaining cases, show cause notices have been given to drivers /vehicles owners on vehicle bearing number JK12-6573 for sheer violations contravention of provision of MVA rules and commissioning of offence of bovine smuggling.
